Mercedes-Benz Vans at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2016.
World premiere: the Mercedes-Benz Vision Van.
With the Vision Van, Mercedes-Benz Vans presents a revolutionary van concept for urban areas. The vehicle as a holistic system integrates numerous innovative technologies for final-stage delivery and thus sets performance standards and defines solutions for future van generations.
An electrically-powered, automated and fully-connected van.
The Vision Van features a fully automated load area, integrated drones for autonomous delivery by air and a modern joystick-type control. Thanks to a strong, 75-kW E-drive system with an autonomy of 270 km, deliveries made by the Vision Van are locally emission-free. The E-drive system also ensures that the Vision Van is still allowed to drive in inner-city areas which impose restrictions on the use of vehicles with a combustion engine. As the E-drive system works almost silently, it makes same-day deliveries late at night less of a nuisance in residential areas.
Mercedes PRO as a B-2-B connectivity solution.
The digital, connected future of the car continues to gather speed: Mercedes PRO connect, the professional connectivity solution, links companies with their vehicles and works to increase your company's efficiency and productivity – in management and controlling as well as in material planning and when on the road. The range of advantages includes minimal downtime thanks to forward-thinking maintenance management, clearly prepared data for business management analysis and motivation for driving respectfully and with a focus on saving resources.
Sprinter: portfolio expanded upwards with even more powerful engines.
The European number one will be on show in all its glory at the IAA for Commercial Vehicles – be it as a panel van, crewbus or a flexible platform chassis with great load-bearing capacity for any type of body solution and conversion. The already varied and successful Sprinter product range now has a big brother with a permissible gross vehicle weight of 5.5 t. In expanding the model programme, the maximum payload on the panel van has been increased by almost half a tonne to a maximum of 3.15 t, while the chassis-cab version now has a load-bearing capacity of up to 3.46 t. The payload of the van thus reaches a record level in this weight category.
Vito: new interior equipment details for the star among the middleweights.
Turning heads in the 3.0 t gross vehicle weight category, the Mercedes-Benz Vito is extremely versatile. The Vito is the first and only vehicle in its class to be optionally available with front-wheel, rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. The front-wheel drive Vito is particularly attractive with its exceptional price-performance ratio. Further examples of the versatility of the Vito are its three length variants, the range of panel van, Mixto and Tourer versions available, as well as the choice of either a manual gearbox or an automatic transmission with torque converter.
Citan: new equipment packages for both the exterior and interior, dual-clutch transmission for diesel variants.
The Citan urban delivery vehicle has long established itself as a part of the Mercedes-Benz Vans product range. A choice of three lengths, as well as panel van, Mixto and Tourer variants, not to mention the numerous weight and equipment variants available make the Citan a true dab hand in its segment. Its independent and attractive outward appearance has been further improved thanks to new equipment packages.
